I just spent the last two hours with my mothers next door neighbour in Galway. She always comes accompanied by ‘Skip’ her pup, who she commands with a iron fist! They are inseparable and whatever she says, Skip does.
She confidently lets herself in the front door demanding to be entertained. So after being my art assistant for a short time we went outside and looked around the garden. She discovered the first radish to ripen in the veg patch – Skip chowed it down in one glup.
Then we worked on our computers…I posted to flickr while she…well, she talked to my mothers powered down laptop through headset not connected to anything. The rain came teaming down outside and immediately she decided she had to go home. So I sent her off with my mothers umbrella. She was dumbfounded. She could not believe it was keeping her dry. As she walked out the driveway she looked behind at me and put her hand out from under the umbrella and felt the raindrops – she started roaring laughing then hollered, “come on Skip, we’re going home”.
