Nick sent me this, and I thought this was a great idea:
A couple of months ago, [John Vanderslice] and his band played his new album Emerald City live at his Tiny Telephone studios, and had a crew film it. The Emerald City footage has since been on a “blog tour” with JV’s favorite blogs exclusively debuting each video throughout the past month. Today the tour stops here at Aquarium Drunkard with the video for “Tablespoon of Codeine.”
Who doesn’t like checking out new music and new blogs? Also, nice reversal of roles; I’m used to blogs recommending artists to me, but now I’ve got an artist (implicitly, at least), recommending new blogs.
Of course, that’s the idea done now, so if it’s just a novelty thing, it might wear off. But I’d certainly like it if Radiohead asked me to preview a track off their new album on this blog. Thom, baby, call us.
